Here is what to expect for the first year annual event. The GR Winter Carnival location is set for Calder Plaza from Winter 2013. Events taking place are; Sculpting 8’ x 8’ x 8’ blocks of snow, winter games, food vendors, beer tent, local music, and an award assembly. The events will be listed on a brackets board and an Award Assembly will conclude the GR Winter Carnival Saturday evening. In the following years teams can defend their standings, creating a long term plan for continued participation and support. All team registration, sculpture theme submission, sponsorships, advertising, quarter wars, charities and local business involvement will take place prior to the event. This will be an exciting event for our city and as the GR Winter Carnival grows, so will the need for talented people to be part in its development and growth.

By connecting and exposing the community to something so fresh and new during the winter season, it will help stimulate local businesses and the growth of our local economy. As a result, our city will have the opportunity to grow stronger as a community and have fun!

Where will sponsoship donations distribute?

Monetary donations will offset the current expense of the GR Winter Carnival but will also be used to further develop future winter carnivals. As this event will reshape how our community, businesses, and visitors interact in our city during winter time, being a sponsor will increase your name presence in the community by showing your support. As a result, sponsorship will help creates a more sustainable Grand Rapids Winter Carnival and improves the continued success for following years.
